Apple is allegedly testing a new Mac mini model equipped with the M3 chip, according to the latest rumors surrounding Apple’s future Mac launches.
As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has been spotted testing the base configuration of the M3 silicon which is expected to debut later this year. The M3 chip is said to feature the same core count as the M2 version, with a 4-performance core CPU, 4-efficiency core CPU, and 10-core GPU.
Configurations up to 24GB of memory are also being tested with the chip, likely for use in a successor to the current M2 Mac mini. Gurman had previously estimated an M3 Mac mini would arrive sometime in 2024, but this testing indicates a 2022 release could be possible.
